Must be able to work weekends as well as opening and closing shifts.
Summary The Dining Room Manager position is responsible for the overall operations of the dining room service and highest quality of customer service.
Duties include ensuring a high standard of appearance, Southern hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room; monitoring, hiring, training, and evaluating staff; plans dining room setup based upon anticipated guest counts and customer needs as well as maintaining an inventory of dining room supplies.
To succeed in this role, a Dining Room Manager is expected to have a positive attitude, follow our core values, and ability to work well under pressure with colleagues, subordinates and guests.
A minimum of 4 years' of experience in a full-service restaurant and at least 2 years' experience in restaurant management is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Reports to the Assistant General Manager and General Manager.
Exemplifies the Core Values of the Company.
Supervises and coordinates activities concerning all front-of-the-house operations and personnel.
Serves as a liaison between the kitchen and dining room staff.
Hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates dining room staff.
Maintains an inventory of dining room items including (but not limited to) silverware, coffee pots, water pitchers, salt and pepper holders, and sugar bowls, ensuring they are properly stored and accounted for.
Monitors dining room labor and supplies, and make adjustments to achieve financial goals.
Manages appropriate reports concerning employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, tip pools, etc.
Greet and seat guests, assist in service and table side hospitality, and resolve complaints concerning food, beverages, and service as needed.
Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room staff and attend scheduled staff meetings.
Ensures the correct appearance, cleanliness, maintenance and safety of dining room areas, including equipment and fixtures.
Confirms that all dining room opening and closing procedures are completed.
Be knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
Must be able to communicate effectively with both subordinates and other managers.
Able to self-motivate and motivate others in the work environment.
Ensures that local and state laws and the restaurant's policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performs all functions in accordance with applicable state laws and objectives of the Original Oyster House, as well as established policies, procedures, and controls.
Required Education and
Experience:
Must speak and write English fluently.
Must have experience with cash and money handling.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background screening.
Must have restaurant experience, preferably as a server or bartender.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
Ability to work well as part of a team or independently.
Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude.
Be detail-oriented and able to prioritize based on operational needs.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift, move, balance, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to walk, bend, twist, lift, stoop, kneel/squat, and push/pull/reach outward and upward frequently.
Must be able to work opening and closing shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Preferred
Experience:
Four years' experience in a full-service restaurant, serving drinks and food, and/or bartending.
Two years' previous management experience in a high volume, full-service restaurant.
